WINTER IS OVER! Here at Gooding Wellness, this past winter was a season dedicated to networking, achievement, and improving our practice as best we can. Despite the snow and freezing temperatures, our clinicians spent time in and out of the office learning and connecting with other professionals to bring the best possible care back to our practice. We’d love to share a little bit of what we’ve been up to with you!
Gordon & Liana in the Media!
Over the winter months, both Liana and Gordon had the privilege of sharing their expertise across several media platforms. As a group, we are proud to amplify our clinicians' voices and showcase the incredible skills they bring to our practice. From Long Island Press to Under 30 CEO, and Wondermind, our team was fortunate to be featured in multiple outlets this season.
Here are some recent highlights featuring Liana & Gordon:
Gordon – Featured in Long Island Press on managing stress and health.
Gordon – Quoted in Wondermind (co-founded by Selena Gomez) on the power of radical acceptance.
Liana – Contributed to Under 30 CEO on promoting well-being within organizations.
Liana – Shared insights in In Deep on navigating long-distance relationships.
Gordon – Featured in Family News on helping children overcome their fears.
Long Island Therapist Meet-Ups

This winter, Gordon, Peter, and Liana participated in two amazing networking events with fellow Long Island therapists. The “Long Island Therapist Meet-Up,” held in December and again in March, brings together local therapists to network, learn about local resources, and collaborate with colleagues. The event was organized by Kendal Bierman, Lindsay Weber, and our very own Clinical Director Liana Ross, LMHC.
Holiday Networking
In January, Gordon attended a holiday party hosted by Water Gap Wellness, Mountainside Huntington, Newport Healthcare, and North Shore Relationship Center at Tula Kitchen in Bayshore. The event brought together many organizations dedicated to helping families and individuals in our community. Gordon had a great evening connecting with colleagues, meeting new faces, and learning about new resources in the community for the clients we serve.
Moves and Makeovers
Office Makeover
In January, the offices at 181 Main Street received their first makeover since 2018! With a fresh coat of paint, soothing colors, and some winter cleaning, the offices are renewed and revived. We hope to continue providing a calm, safe space for our families and clients.
Office Move

At the end of December, our office at 3 Harbor Road moved up the block to 153 Main Street- right next door to our office at 147 Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor. This move keeps all of our offices close together with easy access to parking, shops, and all the other amenities Cold Spring Harbor offers. We are also lucky to have Monica Wells, LMHC, and Social Mind Counseling as our new neighbor!
Monte Nido Networking Event

On February 28th, Gordon attended a fun and interactive networking event hosted by Monte Nido Treatment Centers and The Time Is Always Now Therapy Group, founded by Randi Zimmerman. The craft event took place at Let's Craft in Westbury and was attended by clinicians and nutritionists who specialize in eating disorder treatment. This is a very specialized field, so not every clinician works with this population. Knowing what resources are available and getting to know other trained professionals is critical to providing the right support to our clients when it is needed. It was a great opportunity to connect with other professionals and learn how to create a fun craft with resin and glass.
Best of Long Island

In March, our Founder and Director, Gordon Gooding, was named Best Social Worker in the Four Leaf Best of Long Island Awards. This award, based on community voting, recognizes favorites in a variety of categories. Gordon is humbled and honored to be acknowledged in this island-wide event and extends his recognition to the countless dedicated social workers across Long Island and the country who devote their time and expertise to helping others.
"For the past 30 years, I've had the privilege of serving as a school social worker, a mental health advocate, a homeless education advocate, and building a mental health practice that has helped so many families and individuals. I am grateful and humbled to be recognized."

Cold Spring Harbor SEPTO Event

In March, Gordon and Liana were invited to participate in the Cold Spring Harbor Special Education Parent & Teacher Organization's (SEPTO) resource fair. Gordon shared his expertise in mental health services for children and teens, while Liana spoke about disordered eating and body image issues. The fair was a wonderful experience, and Gordon and Liana were grateful for the invitation. They enjoyed talking and meeting with parents and educators from across the Cold Spring Harbor School District. It was also a great opportunity to network with other providers, including our friends at Balance Mental Health Counseling & Breakthrough Mental Health Counseling. Thank you again to Monica Wells and CSH SEPTO for the invitation!
Peter Attends LICADD Conference

In March, Peter Juliano attended a day-long educational conference hosted by Outreach and LICADD at Outreach House II Adolescent Residential Program. The conference covered a range of essential topics impacting adolescents, including addiction and anxiety disorders, the biological impact of substance use, family dynamics and strategies to enhance work with families, marijuana usage, and processing addictions. The conference provided valuable insights into current treatment trends in addiction and offered opportunities to network with other professionals in the field.
Gooding Wellness Hosts Northwell Health

In March, the Gooding Wellness team was pleased to host several clinicians and professionals from Northwell Health. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect with Northwell's amazing providers and learn about the extensive range of supports and services they offer to our Long Island community. From substance abuse treatment to working with adolescents and schools, Northwell's offerings are impressive. As a small practice, it is vital for us to know about all the available community services in order to best serve our clients and connect them with the most appropriate care. The meeting also allowed Northwell to learn about our practice and services. It was a productive morning spent over Sweetie Pies’ coffee discussing how we can work together with an organization like Northwell to continue to support our community.
Our team here at Gooding Wellness is grateful to have spent another winter connecting with our amazing community to improve our practice. We look forward to spring weather and fantastic opportunities for our clinical team to grow professionally and continue to bring resources and services to our clients. Until next time, get outside, and be gentle with yourself!
